Stephanie Ingle

Market Stretegist at FUGRO

Stephanie Ingle, PhD has over 25 years of experience in earth and ocean scientific exploration and sustained ocean observation

Stephanie Ingle, PhD has over 25 years of experience in earth and ocean scientific exploration and sustained ocean observation – including as an academic researcher, as a science program manager for an innovative start-up, and as a leader of market strategy in the corporate world. Stephanie’s academic journey began with a passion for understanding earth’s systems, leading to a PhD in geochemistry with a focus on major extinction events that coincided with massive volcanic eruptions. Seeking broader impact, she transitioned to science program management at a startup focused on real-time ocean environmental monitoring and tsunami warning systems. There she contributed to bridging the knowledge and communication gaps between academic research and the engineered solutions. Currently with Fugro, a global geo-data advice, acquisition, and analytics services company, she focuses on developing and implementing a market strategy in the broad field of coastal resilience. As part of this role, she leads a diverse team of multi-disciplinary consultants and innovation experts focused on solving the problems inherent to living in dynamic coastal areas, problems rapidly becoming more critical to mitigate. Stephanie is a strong advocate for facing the problems of our time from the broadest perspective possible: to this end, she is a strong advocate for diversity and for innovations that can improve diversity of participation in science and engineering, an active mentor, and a life-long, insatiable learner and pursuer of knowledge who is always on the lookout for the next opportunity to make a positive impact on the world. She has a B.S. in Geology from Indiana University, M.S. in Geology from the University of Florida, and a PhD in Geochemistry from Brussels Free University.

The Guy Harvey Foundation has been a proud partner with Ocean Exchange for the past few years as it provides a wonderful platform for innovations to be shared, meaningful networking to take place and overall supports the growth of the ocean economy and conservation efforts. We’ve been fortunate to provide awards for both collegiate and high school categories, participated on the judging panel and are inspired by the problem solving solutions presented by each candidate. If you want a good dose of inspiration, definitely look to supporting, attending or participating in the events!

Participating in Ocean Exchange as an AUV subject matter expert was a meaningful way to share Anduril’s perspective on operational autonomy and AUV deployment. The event brought together diverse stakeholders focused on advancing practical, impact-driven maritime technologies, and provided a valuable platform for meaningful and inspiring discussions that delved into the complexities and opportunities spanning the full spectrum of ocean innovation.
