Bill Malarkey

Partner, Water Practice Group at Roland Berger

Bill Malarkey is a Partner in the global Water practice group of Roland Berger, the only strategy consultancy of European origin with a strong international presence.

Bill is based in Philadelphia and advises clients in a variety of segments across the water sector.  Prior to the firm’s acquisition by Roland Berger, Bill was the Managing Partner – North America for Amane Advisors, a water-focused strategy advisory firm, having previously served in senior corporate development and strategy roles with Severn Trent, American Water, Thames Water, and RWE. He also led the “Water & Industrials” investment banking practice at the boutique firm of Boenning & Scattergood, Inc.

Bill has served as an Advisory Board Member of the Urban Water Council of the US Conference of Mayors, and as Vice Chairman of the Water Institute of the National Council for Public-Private Partnerships. He is currently a member of the President’s Council of Waterkeeper Alliance, which unites a global water movement of more than 300 community-based clean water advocates who collectively protect 2.7 million miles of waterways in 47 countries.

Bill earned both a Bachelor of Science in International Politics and a J.D. from Georgetown University, and an LL.M. (International Law) from the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität in Heidelberg, Germany, where he was a Fulbright Scholar.  He also served twelve years in the U.S. Army Reserve as a Military Intelligence officer from 1986-1998, reaching the rank of Captain.
